Even though sports diving is done far from the limits of non-decompression, the use of a dive computer will make the whole experience safer, easier and more fun, since it will calculate the saturation of nitrogen saturation in our body tissues, during the whole dive.

In this blog, we will talk about the main features of Aqua Lung diving computers. We offer four models of dive computers: diving Air, Nitrox, Gauge y Apnea.

Classification of dive computers

• No integrated air: Reports all diving data, such as: maximum and current depth, bottom time, decompression stop time, temperature, freshwater or salted water selection, safety alarms (sound and visual in LED light), history, dive planner, time, date, surface time, among others. The models that have these characteristics are the dive computers: I100 – I200C – I300C.
• With integrated air: Reports the same data as the computers without integrated air, but also has a compass, and by means of a transmitter indicates the amount of air inside the tank. The models that have these characteristics are the dive computers: I450T – I550C – I770R.

All Aqua Lung dive computers are intuitive, so we shouldn’t worry about not being very technological. We can perfectly plan the dive from the beach or from the boat, either with the explanation that is provided at the time of purchase, or with the help of the dive instructor.  The dive computer will start recording your data automatically, once it detects the water.  Super amazing!

The computer is designed for underwater vision

On the surface we could notice that the watch-type dive computer is a bit large compared to conventional watches; but don’t worry about that, as the numbers we’re going to read are important to us and our security.  Therefore, as long as we are underwater, the ease of reading and vision that a computer provides us, is crucial.   In fact, for people with vision problems it’s best to buy a large-letter computer, such as the Aqua Lung I300C.

On the contrary, if we have a very good vision, we like the sports style, and we love colors, the Aqua Lung I200C computer, is the ideal choice.  It can be used both as a diving computer, as well as watch in our daily life, either to practice swimming, go to work or to be under the shade of a palm tree.

Maintenance and warranty of diving computers

All Aqua Lung computers have a 2-year warranty. The battery can be purchased in both Mundo Acuático and other technology centers. It can be changed by the user, and between battery changes, the diving computer will not lose its data or its calculations.

It is important to remember that only Aqua Lung-certified technicians can open the diving computer to maintain it or try to fix any discrepancies.  Otherwise, the warranty is lost and the computer may even get damaged.

The most important thing is to have the knowledge necessary to practice diving, either with a beginner’s license like the Open Water Scuba Diver course, or with an advanced license such as the Nitrox Scuba Diver course.

We must be aware, that a dive computer is a technological support that makes it easy for us to know the data of the dives, but it do not supplement everything we learn in the diving courses.

A computer for each type of diver

If we want to dive recreationally, about twice a year as recommended by the instructor, an Aqua Lung I100 computer would meet all the basic data that the diver needs.

For those who want to be leaders in diving, they should ideally buy a computer like the Aqua Lung I450T, which will give them a broader information of the characteristics of the dive.
