The Open Water Scuba Diver course is perhaps the most important in the sport of diving, as it teaches students how to breathe underwater, understand their buoyancy, and use equipment they’ve never needed on the surface.
The course also covers fascinating topics such as physiology, the gases we breathe under pressure, dive medicine, the underwater environment, decompression tables, and more.

Students will receive recommendations for hotels, restaurants, and transportation commonly used by Mundo Acuático. While these services are not included, we will gladly assist you with planning.
Schedule
The student must read the book. An in-person or virtual session is then held to reinforce key topics, answer questions, and coordinate the scuba diving tour.
Pool practice sessions.
Two shore dives are conducted. As these are shallow dives (maximum 7 meters), students will feel safe and comfortable.
Day 4 – Playas del Coco, Guanacaste:
Two open water boat dives. Students will be ready to descend to 18 meters.
